English Proficiency

In order to verify my English proficiency level, I took the Cambridge free assessment test. After answering the 25 questions of the assessment, I found out my proficiency level is C2, the highest qualification.

According to The British Council, the language competencies that characterize a person with this proficiency level are:

  • understanding with ease practically everything he/she hears or reads.
  • summarizing information and arguments from different spoken and written sources, and presenting them coherently and concisely.
  • expressing him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.

What is more, EF SET states that in addition to the competencies included in the C1 level, a person with a C2 level is able to:

  • discuss issues related to science and technology, including robots and new inventions.
  • talk about celebrities, celebrity activism and gossip about celebrities.
  • use a variety of techniques for promoting creativity in your speech and writing.
  • discuss financial planning and give and understand advice about personal financtalk about stress in your life and the lives of friends and colleagues.
  • discuss techniques for doing research on a wide range of topics.

Now it remains for me to get an official certification to back this up.
